In casual Japanese, マジ (maji) is often employed to add emphasis to a statement. It also functions as an adjective to express surprise or doubt. It works similarly to English “really!”, "for real?", "seriously!" and "true".
JI: ここの寿司（すし）はマジでうまい (Sushi in this restaurant is マジ -really- tasty)
MA: それマジ？ (Is that マジ -true- ?)
JI: マジマジ! (Yeah it is マジマジ -absolutely true- !)
